In 2007 I was hired by the Youngstown Vindicator to work on their web sites that they manage, promote and publish to.
My responsiblities have largely remained consistant throughout my employment at the Vindicator.
I handle the XHTML templates, CSS, and JavaScript for each of it's domains and sub domains.
This portfolio is brand new as of June 2010, I will add to my Vindy.com experience here in an itemized fashion touching on the many different projects I have been instrumental in producing.

I had the privilege of putting the design together for Ashtabula.com while I was taking classes at Kent. I actually earned some college credit for it from Kent. I worked with The ACOC (Ashtabula County Online Consortium) to help implement an Ashtabula county only search engine (so it would spider through the URLS that were only submitted by us from websites based in Ashtabula county. This was a group of Non-profits interested in Technological growth in the county. It was a unique experience. The ACOC has since dissolved but the ideals it held were really cool.

Another Non profit I did a website for was Bethel Bible church. One of the first I worked on was Bethel Bible Church's website. Bethel Bible Church used the website I made them for a few years until the administration changed along with their idea of what they wanted for a website.
While I was in college at Kent State, I helped produce some websites for various non profit organizations. One of the first I worked on was Bethel Christian School's website. This included pages for each teacher and a mission statement.
In the Summer 2004 I was asked to do a website for a business in Grand River Ohio (near Painsville Ohio) for a company that installed and stocked sail boat rigging hardware. The owner of the company "Grand River Rigging" paid me to put together a website with the photos and information he provided to me. I helped him set up the website by helping him purchase hosting space and having him set up a username on the hosting company's website. Since doing this the Hosting company was hacked and all information is lost, the Owner lost his password and username, or I would have been able to re-install his website. The web page in place today is nothing like the one I created for him.
This project involved the development of a theme for Drupal (custom) and a theme to match it for a online shopping cart. It proved to be a solid freelance learning experience.
While I was in college one of my professors approached me with information about an associate of his who needed some website work done. Through this connection I eventually made my way to Euclid to work on a website for S&S Packaging. Since producing a website for S&S in 2003, they have revised it and it looks different now.
At the Kent State (Trumbull Branch) I took a course from Professor Deb Murphy in Multimedia Website Design. During this course I had a "final project" that was a large part of my grade. I chose to do a website for the United Way of Ashtabula County as my "final project" in that course. I chose to do the majority of it in Macromedia Flash 2004 (an educational version that I had purchased for $250). This project is no longer in use, but was a solid learning experience.
My first website project as an employee was done while I was working at the Internet Service Provider Suite224 in Conneaut Ohio. I helped them set up a content managed website for them with some custom forms for the services they provide.
